Mohammad-Javad Zarif is an Associate Professor of Global Studies at the University of Tehran and the founder and president of PAIAB Associate. He served as Iran’s Vice President for Strategic Affairs from August 2024 to March 2025. Previously, he held the office of Foreign Minister of Iran from 2013 to 2021, concurrently serving as the country’s Chief Nuclear Negotiator between 2013 and 2015. From 2002 to 2007, he was Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations. This essay is submitted in his personal academic capacity, following the conclusion of his tenure as Vice President, Tehran, Iran.
