Abstract
Abstract
Following the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Azerbajan has constantly pursued an anti-Russia policy in the region and it has always been scared of Russia’s presence and expansionism. Along with other worries at home and abroad (like Karabakh conflict), this concern has driven Ajerbaijan towards cooperation and alliance with the Zionist regime and America. Recently, this relation has previaled in varied domains includnig military and intelligence. Alternatively, as the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), the southern neighbor of Azerbaijan, enjoys close relation with the country, either geographically or culturally-civilizationally, any move by Azerbaijan could bear destructive consequences for the IRI. Accordingly, this article deals with “the effective factors in the development of Azerbaijan-Israel relations and its consequnce for the IRI’s national security” as a question and seeks to multidimensionally study the roots and consequences of the mentioned theme for the IRI’s national security with a realistic approach in the frame of Alliance and Security Balance Theory and description.
